It's official since 14^th February 1997: Alain Prost bought the Ligier Team. The price Alain paid for the team is different in every newspaper... Some of them wrote, that it's about 75'000'000 Swiss Francs, others speak of 80'000'000 Swiss Francs and the highest amount I heared of is about 100'000'000 Swiss Francs (!!). I think that the Ligier team has been sold by Flavio Briatore at a price of about 80 million Swiss Francs. In 1997, Ligier will start with Honda-engines, but in 1998 the Team called "Prost Grand Prix" (as you could read in my news section of 2nd February - see below) will be powered by Peugeot! It seems, that elf and Michelin will again take part in Formula 1 with "Prost Grand Prix".
