I already wrote it in the News of 1^st October 1997: Alain will drive the new Prost AP01! But not as soon as it was expected. Originally, Alain wanted to drive some laps just for fun during the tests in January 1998. But he never found the time to do so... As it was told from Peugeot Sport Engineer Franck Drui at the Prostist Chat of 1^st March 1998, Alain will finally drive the car after the third Grand Prix. The testing will probably be in Magny-Cours. According to Franck Drui, Alain wants to drive before the European GP's because with the new rules he can't really help the drivers as he did last year...

It's no joke: Frank Williams wanted to have Alain as a driver for 1998! Williams was very interested in Alain, because of Alain's clean driving - he was always very careful with the tyres, and as the tyres were expected to decide races this year, Alain would have been the no.1 choice for Frank Williams. Anyway, Alain wasn't interested...

There are quite a lot of technical problems at Team Prost. Bernard Dudot, who is the Technical Director said: "I love it, if life is putting hurdles in my way. So, I'm a very happy man at the moment." It's nice to hear, that you're happy, Monsieur Dudot... Anyway, let's hope, that we all will be happy because of race results soon...
